FNSI sewing

Thank you Heidi and Bobbi for the FNSI it certainly helps with motivation knowing others are stitching along with you.
Ages ago I started  string blocks but as usual I got side tracked with other things so last night I got all of these done, while working away each piece reminded me of the projects I used them for so I have decided to call this quilt "Memories Past"

I finished another block of "Earl Grey Moment" quilt from Faeries in My Garden, one more to go and then I can put it together..... yay

I then moved on to Christmas Fun wall hanging, its been very slow going with this one but it will be finished for Christmas I promise.

It doesn't look like a lot but it kept me very busy and I was very pleased to get it done.
I hope you all enjoyed stitching in the FNSI as I did.

Wow I have been slack in posting..... oooowa

I'm very late with this post but things just get in the way sometimes but I'm here now so all is good.

On the 8th of this month our little group went on a bus trip to the "Quilters Annual Picnic" its the first time we have been, we had such a great day..... laughing chatting more laughing and of course lunch.
Here are the girls all ready in the bus, Tereasa thought she was so funny being tall for a change but she was sitting over the wheel arch, Sandi looks so short too. lol

from the left Ellen, Sandi, Teresa and Tereasa.

A little something I bought at the picnic as you do lol

There was a potholder swap on the day too and this is the one I made.

Here is the one I received.... hmmmmmm interesting I think.

Mother's Day was a bit different for me this year as it was more like a Mother's weekend but I loved it. Saturday my daughter Liz and her 2 boys Jake and Clayton came for lunch, they have such a busy time on Sundays with the boys football so we had a very relaxing day on Saturday then in the evening we went to my son Rob's place for tea and that again was relaxing just sitting around chatting and having a giggle, loved it.

Sunday morning was very quiet, Gavan and the dog went off to model plane flying so I made breakfast and sat on the porch in the sun and stitched of course .....then my g/daughter Corinne arrived so we went off to spotlight for a bit of a look about , Gavan did give me a cuppa before he went out.
Corinne also came to see her Mum.... my daughter Heather who lives next door, sadly she had to work until 2pm so it was a late Mum's day for her, we got together in the late afternoon and Gavan cooked us a fantastic roast pork dinner so it was a beaut weekend and I got to see all the family which was great..... love you all and thanks for a great Mum's Day.

OPAM and more

First OPAM for May is this cute doll "Millie" an "Aways Stitchin" pattern by Debbie Magee, love her little Rabbit friend.

I hope I had this doll on my "To do List" so I can mark it off but knowing me I probably forgot to add it in the first place.
Love making dolls, they are a lot more fun and quicker than quilts.

I just couldn't resist adding some borders to the "Earl Grey Moment" blocks there are more borders to go  in between them yet.

My slow progress with "My Favourite Things" quilt but I will get there.

Now for a little stitching and a cuppa.

Birthdays... and a finish....

I was a very naughty girl and forgot to  post about our Easter birthdays .
Gavan had his big 70th on the 16th and Corinne's 20th on the 14th April. We had all the family together, 13 of us and we all had a great time.

Heather and Liz taking care of the B-B-Q and they did a terrific job too.

It was a very relaxing day, lots of laughing and playing table tennis which we haven't done for a long time,..... note to self..... get the other family photos from Heather, another senior moment I think.

                                                         June and her Dad, James.

I have at last finished this quilt.... woohoooo it has been a bit of an ordeal really....  firstly a mistake in the pattern but carried on regardless  then the biggest mistake of all made by me I must admit ..... I had pieced the quilt top and was cutting the border fabric but forgot I was supposed to be fussy cutting arrrrr and then I didn't have enough fabric but I was lucky enough to get some online so all ended up ok in the end ........ so I'm very very happy its done. After all the trouble its been I have decided to call it "Woe is Me" quilt silly I know but I like it.

Of course it wouldn't be finished without a label so

Ta.... dah......

That makes another OPAM for this month and I can tick it off my "To do list".

Great stitching day

Well its a bit rainy and miserable today but looking on the bright side what a terrific stitching day.

I usually like to sit on the patio and do a bit of stitching but today I will plant myself in front of the tele and watch a movie.

Here is my sewing spot in the lounge room.... favourite chair with our faithful little "Pippa" sitting close by... I"m sewing  the binding on this quilt so it should be finished today all going to plan.

Block 7 of the "Earl Grey Moment" quilt is finished, I'm getting a bit excited now as the end is in sight..... 2 more blocks to go then the big job putting it all together.

I hope you are enjoying a bit of quiet stitching today as well.
