Why am I always catching up ??????

The title of this post says it all really....... I mean to keep up with posting and then ....

all of a sudden I'm behind..... oh well.

June 13th saw Sandi, Norreen and me out and about, this time we went to the
Redlands Quilt Extravaganza. and who did we meet there ......

why Joy of course...... thanks for the chat Joy.

and  few Sunday Stitchers too.....
from the left Susan, Inca, Maureen, Cheryl, me and Norreen
Sandi was the photographer.
Lunch  of course.

3 sweet.... innocent girls.....

First things first ...... coffee and scones.

Here a few quilts that took my eye.

This one is my favourite.... so realistic.

Last Saturday Sewer's Delight had a bigggg sale so Sandi and I went along to see if we needed anything...... yeah right.... as if ....
but I'm so pleased we did as you always meet someone you know and it happened to be Susan so after a little retail therapy of which I didn't buy anything for myself.... so strong I must say.... I did meet Mel (daughter-in -law) and her Mum there, it's Mel's Birthday this week so she chose fabric for her first quilt as my gift to her.... she has asked me to teach her to sew and everyone knows that you start on something simple.... like a quilt..... lol.....
I'm sure we will have fun together, I also gave her a quick unpick just in case.
So naturally ........
an outing is never complete without something special.....

Rocky road Coffee......

My first Christmas ornie is finished.......
he is such a cute fellow.

 Second ornie started.

I have made good progress with my Christmas Train wall hanging....
I'm really enjoying doing these felt projects.

First block of " A Little Bit Country" by Libby Richardson
I'm doing this quilt with Norreen and we are both enjoying the journey.

Block 2

On Tuesday Sandi gave us all a little needle case and I was very happy to get this one....
mind you there was a lot of hinting going on when she made lots of them a while ago....

Thank you Sandi ...... I love it.

A lovely morning get together

8th June Queen's Birthday Weekend ....also my Mum's Birthday,  she would have been delighted to share it with the Queen's  celebrations......

Gavan's first outing since he came out of hospital, we were off to visit Heather at Cleveland.

One should never be early......lol......

We had a lovely morning visiting Heather and Sylvio but we were a little bit early and caught them in the kitchen preparing the goodies......

Bianca (Sylvio's daughter) made us a Welcome sign with lovely necklaces too....
Gavan didn't put his on but of course I  did.

Love the sign.....

"Welcome to our crazy house where dreams come to life"

Lovely flowers for me.....how lucky .....

a get well balloon for Gavan......

How silly am I......no photo of the yummie food.....
Bianca, Alex (Sylvio's children) and Heather had been cooking for quite a while.....
We had cup cakes, sandwiches, cookies, chocolate cake......
it was just wonderful......
Thanks so much for inviting us into your home.

Life sure does have it's ups and downs..... a big blog catch up too.

Just when everything seems to be going along swimmingly life throws you a curve ball.

In 1996 Gavan had a massive heart attack followed by quadruple bypass surgery, stomach bypass and Kidney problems but since that time all has been really good until now.

On Monday 27th April Gavan had a Doctors appointment for a skin check and as he hadn't been feeling very well he asked  the Doctor to check him over and then she said "I have called an ambulance as I think you have had a heart attack" so to the hospital he went.... lots of tests of course and yes she was right.... it was a minor heart attack so after a couple of days and lots more tests and medication changes they let him go home on the Thursday 30th.

So Gav seemed to be going along OK until  Thursday 21st May.... I needed to call an ambulance from home so off we went again..... tests showed another hit to the heart, more changes of medication and home he went on Sunday 24th......

Well yes it happened again on Tuesday 26th another call to the ambulance service with chest pain and another minor heart attack....he stayed in till Friday 29th with more changes to his medication and so far he seems to be going alright.... fingers crossed...... we have an appointment to see the Doctor tomorrow so maybe we will have a long chat to see what the future will hold for him.

As you can imagine my sewing has taken a back seat to all of this but hopefully I will get a bit more done soon. Gavan can't drive for a month and I'm a bit scared to leave him on his own so for the time being we feel as though we are joined at the hip..... lol....

He was told to rest so he is doing as he was told.....
Pippa is soooo pleased to have him home too.

A picture no artist could paint.....

I will start quilting Gavan's quilt this week or next.

Today I had a small finish "Hatched and Patched" Tuffet in a Tin.
I did change the height of my pin cushion by half and I'm quite pleased with it.

It has joined my pin cushion corner.
I've got a bit of a pin cushion fetish I think.

I did have a Tuesday stitch with the girls this week at my house and it was such a really really fun day..... we laughed so much and I would love to tell you what caused the fun but that's not going to happen.... trust me......,

We had such a lovely surprise on Tuesday... Teresa brought gifts, the lovely Shez had sent pressies for us all.... how very thoughtful you are Shez.

Thank you Shez it was a lovely surprise to brighten my day.
That is an awful photo ... sorry about that.

I worked on my felt ornies but not a lot of progress was made this week.

Last Sunday was our "Sunday Stitchers" get together bu I wasn't able to go this time
so I made a coffee and had a snack while stitching so I felt like I was there.... between visitors of course ( family and Gav's mate Don)

It was a shame to miss this day as it was our "Biggest Morning Tea" for cancer research.

I did get a pen from the day that I got the girls to get for me.

I have had secret sewing for swaps so I will reveal those later.

To finish I have this photo of June g/daughter.

She partnered a friend for his year 12 formal and she really looked sooooo beautiful.

A lovely photo of June and Heather (mum)
