Last Tuesday get together for 2015

Well it was the last Tuesday Girls get together for 2015.....

it was a quiet affair .... except for the laughing of course

Teresa had this beautiful Christmas Quilt for show and tell.

It looks fantastic and she was so pleased with the quilting  from Sarah too.

We did have a little naughty time....

it was very hot so we enjoyed our craft in the Grannie flat that Corinne uses but she is in Japan for Christmas this year so we found her Advent calender in the fridge so I sent her this photo.....

very big mice trying to eat her chocolates...... hehehehehe

That was as naughty as it got this time.....

 I think we are all tired from another great year together...... full of terrific outings.

We are never too big to see Santa....

A big week for a big Birthday....

The lovely Sandi has called this......

the "Festival of Helen" .....

yes I will tell you, it's my big 70th  Birthday....

starting with an outing on Monday with my eldest daughter Heather....

High Tea.....

 It was soooo good.

We did do a bit of shopping as well.

Tuesday Girls ......

well we were out and about again of course

The Tuesday girls were out and about again, this time at Maree's lovely home stitching with these ladies.

An unexpected outing

What a lovely unexpected outing I had with Sandi the other day....

Just one of those outings without a plan.

We went to spotlight at Springfield Orion and to our surprise there is a new Target shop there with a cafe ........ and they do High Tea for 2 so naturally we had to give it a try.

We were so happy with it too...... 

we will have to take Norreen and Teresa for a visit.

Its not a big flash high tea as you can see but very enjoyable.

The scones were fantastic .....

Once again I don't have any photos of our Tuesday get together but maybe it's just as well,

I was making more Miss Matty's hexie blocks..... 

Looks good in this photo but earlier in the day it didn't look so good at all.

I put the centre hexie on wrong side up and what a pain it was to unpick.....

tiny little stitches...... grrrrrrr 

So  at the end of the day I had make 1 hexie,,,,,, how's that for a days work ?

Here's another that I did on monday....

I'm really enjoying this project..... 

I think I might put a countdown thingee on my side bar ....

just for fun of course, I need 323 hexies some plain ....

A Birthday and an outing....

On the 19th October my youngest baby had her 42nd  Birthday so we got together to celebrate.

I just love this photo of Liz and her youngest son Clayton ......

they get on soooo well.

Here they are comparing muscles...... so funny

Liz does weight lifting and Clayton plays AFL footy.

Her other son  Jake was at work so he missed the fun.

Jacarandas are so lovely and it was a very pretty sight on the way to the shops where we enjoyed lunch for her special day.

We had birthday ice cream cake which is a tradition in their home.

On Tuesday our very small group.....

Teresa, Norreen and me decided to have lunch at a very pretty cafe not far from home.

While Sandi is away these 3 little kittens went out to play....

 It was so relaxing there.....

We did have a sensible lunch which didn't even get in the photos but.......

Well it was only Teresa and me that were naughty really.....

We are all off  to a retreat in Tasmania tomorrow so hopefully lots of photos to come.

Tuesday Girls..... other bits.

Not a lot of stitching happening last Tuesday as you can see.......

This is the first Teapot Block I have been given......

My 70th Birthday Teapot blocks....

Thank you sooooo much Teresa, I love it.

What a pity I have to have a big birthday to receive these blocks.

Thursday was another lovely day with Mel (DIL).....

it was binding day for her little quilt and this time she has homework....

sewing down the binding and finishing the label.

It was Sunday Stitchers today and as usual I didn't take any photos...... very naughty.

But........ 

Jeanette gave me a Birthday Teapot block.....

Thank you very much Jeanette..... love it.

Woohooo......  my quilt has begun.

If you would like to make me a birthday block that would be wonderful.....

The block should be a Teapot theme, 6 1/2" square .... cream background

and any style you like..... applique/stitchery/pieced etc and colour of your choice.

Ooooops nearly forgot...... signed on the front please.

This is going to make such a wonderful keepsake, thank you Tuesday girls for getting this started for me.

What can I  say really.....

last week our little group was out and about again, a little bit of cheering up was necessary 

so we decided to go out without a plan.....lol.....

Firstly I took the girls to a lovely cafe ....well that was a fizzer as it was shut Tuesdays, yes I know check opening hours before you go.....

but we ended up at another lovely spot....
