A Splendid finish.....

What a journey this has been.....

My Splendid Sampler...

I wasn't going to do this quilt but after a little bit of coaxing from the girls at retreat February last year we all started it together......

I decided that I would only use fabric from my stash except for the sashing, binding and wadding....

unfortunately it hasn't made much of a dent in the fabric stash really.....

the backing is also from my stash so it is a bit odd I guess.....

Well I'm soooo happy to say that I have finished mine.....

 I only did 81 of the 100 blocks as there were some that I wasn't so keen on and it is big enough for me as well.....

So drum roll please....

Ta.... daaaaaa

The lighting isn't very good in my bedroom but it does look very nice on the bed....

Guess who likes to get in on the act ?

A happy but sad goodbye....... a little splendid......

Our beautiful Corinne (g/daugther) who has been living with us for the past 3 1/2 years is now on a wonderful adventure..... she has moved to Japan to live and work for 18 months or so.
I will miss her sooooo much but I am excited for her as well.
It is so easy to keep in touch these days even though she is so far away and I know that there might be a little holiday to visit her in the new year......

Miss you heaps.....
gosh she has only been away a little over a week.....

I used pretty cheerful fabric for this block as it reminded me of my friends.....

Tuesday catch up and a bit of Splendid......

Our lovely Tuesday girl "Teresa" left us to go on holiday to the top end of Australia.......

 and look at this beautiful piece of fabric, what a wonderful colour.

The necklace is just beaut as well.....

Oooooops  I was supposed to be in charge of morning tea so I quickly made this Banana bread while they were here.....just as well it was at my place.....

It was yummie too.....

I did stitch not that you can tell from all these food photos......

I have made soooo many mistakes with the paper piecing blocks.... all my fault and very silly errors really, sewing right and wrong sides of fabric together, cutting off the pieces that should stay there, cutting pieces a bit short and a lot of unpicking going on as well.

So I have decided to play a bit of a game with myself of course......

$1 in the tin for each mistake....

 silly I know but I think it will be fun to see how much I will have at the end of this Splendid journey.....

$5  was the fine for this block..... lol.....

I just thought I would show this photo of our grandson Thomas......

our family including Robert (his father and our son) haven't seen him for some years so it is nice to see a photo from time to time.... he is 14 years old.

We had our Tuesday get together at Sandi's home this week....

she had such a lovely display of all her Easter decorations (here)....

We wanted to have a photo of our Easter Mug Rugs but someone (Teresa) forgot to bring hers but you can see it there on Sandi's IPad......

A day out with Gavan

It was great to have  a leisurely day out with Gavan.....

First stop was morning tea at Bryson's in Warwick ....as you do......

One can't go to Warwick without a visit to Glenrose patchwork and as you can imagine Gav thought that was a fantastic (not) idea.....lol......

I only bought a few necessities, not worth a photo.....

The real focus of the day was to visit....

Glengallan Homestead built in 1867....

What a fantastic house and history of the area.

It had been left in ruins for many years but now has a new lease on life.

What a view

Not sure how I would have survived with this bathroom......

What a great place to stitch this would have been.

 Still lots of work to be done.....but they are getting there slowly

Then back to the main part of town to Bryson's for lunch......

Men never look excited to be sitting in a cafe with lots to look at and buy.....

maybe he was nervous in case I bought toooooo much.

Only a little shopping with Gavan there...... lol

It was lovely to take Gavan to see where I go on retreat and show him where all his money goes.....

So it was off home after a wonderful day.....
