Another big and small finish

Well here it is my big finish ....... "Crazy Christmas" quilt, pattern by Lynette Anderson and stitched by me, all those fingers belong to Teresa and Norreen they do such a good job of being "quilt hangers"..... pity about the bird with the camera as the colours are much nicer than they look here...... a bit too much light there I think.

The back of the quilt looks pretty good too but I think I need to take better photos in the future.
Yes you can just see the label in the bottom corner.

Now for the small finish, this is a Marg Low kit I bought when I went to Melbourne for the Craft Show.

A great project to do and lots of fun too..... I will definitely be making more of these.

I think that's enough Christmas projects for a little while..... except of course for the BOM in the Homespun magazine which will be done for this year.

Big and small finishes.......

At last my "Figgy Pudding" quilt is finished and of course that's the big finish...... I'm so happy with this quilt and its quite different in style from my other Christmas quilts but I'm sure it will fit in somewhere, Corinne is eyeing it off as it would fit very nicely with her Christmas colours so I will have to make sure that it doesn't disappear when I'm not looking......

The trees are 3D I guess you could say ...... I should have taken a photo with my hand behind them so you could get an idea of what I mean...... might do that tomorrow and add another photo.

Hmmmm maybe I will have to decorate the bedroom this year or should I give it to Corinne, we will see.

                                                   Every quilt needs a label

Now for my small finish, this tiny pin cushion is a kit from "Patchwork Mariko Japan", I love small projects.... ooops should have put a couple of pins in it.

These are the last of my "Crazy Christmas" blocks stitched so I can now start joining this quilt together too and hopefully it will be another finish..... woohooooo

"It's Time for Christmas" BOM   from the Homespun magazine that I'm doing with  a couple of  friends  from our Tuesday Girls group ...... this should be finished for Christmas too we hope.

Well I seem to be on a roll at the moment so I'm off to get the next block ready to begin.

Last of the Melbourne trip

This purchase was from "Gail's Emporium" a shop of my dreams really, I also bought a couple of gifts for friends but haven't any photos of those.

Meeting blogging friends at the craft show, lots of chatting and giggling ..... thank you ladies for your company.
from the left Fiona, Norreen, Lynda, Jenny, me, Shez, Sharon and Sylvia.
lovely to meet you all.

Craft show shopping..... my goodness I was such a good girl.

Last day of our trip so we finished with a little shopping, coffee and cake of course.
It was so hard to choose which naughty cake to have ....

Lynda, Norreen and me chose Strawberry tart....
we did buy 1 each of course..... I wasn't sharing lol.

Jenny's choice, looks fantastic doesn't it ?

Last but not least I couldn't resist buying this, red is my favourite colour in clothing.

Not a lot of stitching to show as I'm doing secret things at the moment but I have these 2 blocks of the "Crazy Christmas" quilt ready to put together.

Hopefully I will have more to show very soon.

How embarrassing is this ???????

I was doing the usual grocery shopping and looked down at my hand to find this ..........

my little car key ring decoration with its stuffing hanging out and all the stitching coming apart so I quickly gathered it up and put it in my handbag....... how embarrassing for a crafty girl.

Of course you can guess what happened when I got home ........ the old with the new.....

I can now hold my head up high when shopping.

Last Friday I was lucky to be able to attend another Grandparents day with my Grandsons at their school.
Jake is in year 12 and Clayton year 8 so I got to enjoy a class with both of them, its such a wonderful thing to participate in, I even got to join in drawing in the art class with Clayton and to be served coffee and lunch by the boys....... sadly I didn't get any photos of the day but before we went there I couldn't resist taking a photo of Jake's lunch bag..... its so cute, he is a bit of a character and loves his little lunch bag...... even if he is 16yrs old.

On the stitching front I have this pin cushion project that I'm doing with Tereasa but it is taking us a longggg time to finish but the end is in sight.

I also made this small wall  hanging which has been waiting to be done for quite a long time. Tereasa gave me the hanger ..... Laurel gave me the Norfolk Island painted panel and I was lucky to go there last year so this has a lot of sentimental meaning.

3 more blocks of Lynette Anderson's "Crazy Christmas" quilt are done so I am getting there slowly.

Well that's it for today..... I'm off to do some more stitching.

Heart swap and other blocks

There's nothing nicer than a pressie in the mail and thanks to Carol here are my goodies.

Heart with my initial and lots of other pressies, how did you know Carol my favourite chocolate is  Rocky Road.... my goodness you must have ESP I think..... it won't  last long either.

Thanks to Cheryll for such a lovely swap.

Well I have started on my button quilt "Fernhill" by Lynette Anderson, I'm hoping its not going to take too long as its for the blank wall in my lounge room.

I also managed to make the other blocks for the "Crazy Christmas" quilt and yes its a Lynette Anderson pattern..... its coming along nicely.

We had another birthday last Friday but I haven't any photos yet so they will be in my next post.

Pies with Pop and Fun with Nan

How time flies....its so nice to look back sometimes

You can just see little Corinne (3yrs old) there, she is helping Pop make pies...... she is standing on a little chair.

then  17yrs later they are still enjoying their pie making.

These days though they do the washing up which is really good.

We decided to make Reindeers for Christmas but as usual our plans went out the window so we have only just got to them, Tuesday girls liked them so that was good.

I do the fun things.....

Aren't they cute, I promised Sandi that we would make more for our Tuesday get together next week at her house, her hubbie wasn't happy that she didn't take any home for him so don't panic Wayne yours are coming.

                                                 Some stitching to show

...... this is my Crazy Christmas  BOM, I was hoping to get several blocks put together today but I have run out of wadding so that put paid to that idea..... this is a quilt as you go project.

Oh well I think I will start my Heart swap instead...... I have plenty of projects to choose from, far toooooo many really.
