I've been pondering......

and struggling with the

 "Romancing the Roadtrip" quilt.....

I just couldn't seem to get my head around this quilt at all....

Then I had a light bulb moment....lol...

I'm soooo happy with my new idea.....

My quilt will be very different from the pattern.....

I'm personalising all my postcards so it will end up being a travel memory quilt.....

So here is my new plan.....

I will be making a quilt top using the "Stack and whack" method then needleturning the postcards in a random fashion on top.....

This will then allow me to add more postcards after the quilt is finished (quilted and bound) as I'm hoping that I will continue to do a bit more travelling in the future.....

Of course I have no idea at this stage how many postcards I will make either.......

So there you have it......

Gosh...I feel better now that I've made a decission....

The UFO challenge number 12 for me is to put the "Simple Life" quilt top together......

Not a finish though as there are 5 applique/stitchery pieces to be needleturned on......

I have prepared all the pieces but they are another number in the challenge so I'll have to to wait and see when that pops up......

1 Xmas Item a Month....

I exceeded my expectations with the plan for the Pretty Crochet quilt.....

All pieces crocheted and Suffolk puffs made ready to put together.....

Yayyy very excited about that....

1 Xmas project a month also ready to finish by the 25th Feb......

UFO Challenge number 12 project is all set out and ready to stitch together.....

Simple Life quilt top.....

5 stitcheries to be done and needle turned on the quilt top later, that part will be another UFO number .....

"Flower Garden Quilt" 

is now set out ready to add background hexies

4 Postcards also ready for stitching....

Dragging the chain a bit with these.....

Oh yes, a little scrapbooking purchase....

just a change of pace from stitching.....

I'm off now to work on one of the above......

It was great to spend Friday evening stitching with Wendy and all the lovely blogland ladies.....
I stitched the binding down on my little mini quilt......

I received these from Sandi.....

Unfortunately we didn't take a group photo with our visitors....no reason really, we just were laughing and chatting so much no-one remembered.....

Gosh another grandchild all grown up....

where have the years gone.....

We were at the Green Frog Hollow cafe....

A family BBQ at home for dinner to help June celebrate.....

We (Heather and us) gave June a beautiful keepsake ring for her birthday....

Amethyst...her birthstone.....

It was so good to be a part of June's celebration.....

A great night but no-one seems to have any photos of the family ......

Earlier in the week we had this cute visitor......

It was late in the afternoon so the light wasn't good for photos but you can just see him or her....lol
