A visit to Melbourne with Heather.....

 Up up and away....

I'm so happy to be visiting Corinne and Anthony this week, for Corinne's birthday 14th April....

It is also Gavan's birthday 16th April...these two always celebrated  together....sadly Gavan isn't with us so a happy and sad time this year....

We ( Heather and me )  bought Corinne a Puppy for her birthday.....

A long and funny story really, you know the sort of thing....

Corinne.... Mum please buy me a puppy.... pretty please ....

Anthony agreed with one demand....

You have to get it today by 12 that night or there will be no more talk of a dog....lol

Oh dear....big mistake Anthony, Heather loves a challenge..... 

We arrived around 8am. Sunday birthday morning....... 

RSPCA visit for a pup.... no luck....

Phone calls to pup ads online....

Long story short..... 7pm that evening , yep you guessed it  .....

There was the perfect pup....

Hopefully Anthony has learned to NEVER give Heather a challenge.....lol

Secretly though he was only joking and was totally delighted with the pup....

Happy Birthday Corinne....

It is very tiring going to a new home.....

He is 11 weeks old....

Swiss Shepard cross Labrador.....

he will be a very big boy....

This is Diago.... Dora won't greet the new family member....

We did do more than play with the dog of course....

Although that took up most of the time....

Pizza was the first nights very late dinner after the puppy shopping....

I was having an IBS tummy issue so vegemite snadwich for me....lol

I was lucky to get the main bedroom during my stay as Corinne and Anthony needed to sleep on the lounge downstairs with Franklin....lol

This is Dora who was my bed buddie....

OMG I slept with a cat.....

My room mates....

On Gav's special day we went to the park for a quiet celebration.....

It was so nice just relaxing and remembering fun times together....

Well .... moving along to our trip to ....

Just love this place....

They have a wonderful range of Vendula bags .....

I have been on the look out for a small purse and found just the right one....

Cafe was also a good place to have a coffee....

We only stayed 4 days..... gosh it went so quickly...

Time to go home.....

Well I think that might be all the news at the moment.....

I'm sure there will be many photos of Franklin to come....

February Needle Girls....

Friday 9th....

 It was nice to have a visitor "Jenny" to our little group.....

There  was also a birthday to celebrate....

Pressies .....

It was Lynda's special day.....

Yes.... we did sew but not much....lol....

On the Friday 23rd we decided to have a "ginger nut" testing day....

Arnott's ginger nut biccies have different recipes for other states.....

Yes.... a bit odd....

TAS/ VIC... QLD ...WA / SA.... NSW/ ACT.....

We had mixed opinions of which were best....

I am orginally a NSW born girl so naturally I liked the NSW biccies best.....

An interesting day....

January catchup....

 I have enjoyed doing this Jig Saw puzzle, a gift from my stitching friends....

Certainly filled a lot of hours.....

A group project with the Needle Girls....

It is a Sue Spargo quilt....

We nick named it  "Spargo"

Lots of fun finding all the bits and bobs for it....

We also chose a word each for the year and this is mine...

I also added the binding on these 2 donated quilt tops ( for charity )after Fiona did the gorgeous quilting for us....

A little retail therapy to keep the spirits up....

Christmas 2023..... a quiet one this year....

 I was lucky to have help with my decorating this year....

Corinne and Anthony came to assist me.....

I had to have the decorations up this year just to enjoy a happy space.....

Christmas lunch was at Heather's....

only a small group of us this year....

Didn't seem the same without Gavan's bah humbug grizzle that he usually does.....

I made these cute turtles for Colby....

Caught up with him a little after Christmas but he did seem to enjoy playing with them....

I do hope everyone had a great Christmas....

 It was a lovely day with the family.....

a tough day for me without my Gavan to help celebrate my birthday......

We did have a good day.....

Relaxing, eating and laughing....

Watching Colby enjoy the park....

Lovely gifts from everyone....

This beautiful  diamond ring was given to me by Heather, Liz and Corinne.....

It would have been our 60th Wedding Anniversary on the 21st December so these wonderful people decided that Gavan...Dad would have given me this if he was here so they did it for him....

So very thoughtful....

I can't tell you how much it meant to me.....

Always in my heart.....
