Toowoomba Day 2

We had a very busy day planned.....
 firstly a visit to....

"Newtown Park" the State Rose Garden.....
which is across the road from our little cottage .....

So lovely to have a morning walk through the wonderful gardens......

   A play in the park is a must  for us........   

We headed off to visit a lovely little craft shop just down the road from our little cottage....

Quilt Craft...... but I forgot to take photos, oooooops

Then off to the Teapot Extravaganza.....

A lovely Devonshire Tea.....

Wonderful displays of beautiful Tea pots ..... cups and saucers etc.....

My favourite china..... Country Roses.....

There were so many people here and very difficult to get good photos.....
loved it though......
 I did buy this very cute and small tea pot.....

Off we go again to .....
The Quilt Show......

This one was my favourite..... loved the embroidery......

I took this special photo for Teresa just to give her a scare really......
she had been to see the movie "It"  and the clown gave her  a fright so naturally I felt she needed to see this pop up in a message on her phone......hehehehehehe

A couple of goodies just had to be bought from the lovely handmade stalls....

After such a busy morning we needed a bite to eat.....
we found this lovely little place to eat.....
"Milk and Honey Cafe"
this tasted as good as it looks.....

We then went back home for a little rest .......
Also to eat the treats we bought at the cafe.....

The grand parade was next on our agenda.......
after driving around looking for parking and then a long walk we finally found a good spot to see the parade....... bring on 3pm......

Oh dear .... that lady with the stripe hat was in the way all afternoon.....

You would think that we had finished our day but you would be wrong of course.....

There was another park to be seen.....

Queens Park......
So many wonderful gardens and bright flowers......

I've had to pinch a few photos from the girls as my phone went flat at the parade.......
We had a great evening meal at  " Urban Grounds" cafe.....

Open chicken and leek pie...... was sooooo good.....

We wondered around Queens Park for a while checking out
the carnival and side show alley ....

Then off home to rest for the next days outings......

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Day 1

Where do I begin.......

All aboard for our weekend away.....

Teresa.... Sandi..... Norreen and me......

after an early start we did stop for a very early cuppa.....

what is a cuppa without food.......

On reaching Toowoomba we stopped at the information centre to get a few ideas of things we might like to see and do.....

messing about as usual.....

After unloading the car we were off again.....

Spring Bluff Railway Station.....

what a pretty place it is.....

 we also had lunch here.....

 We had our evening meal at the "Park House Cafe"

it was so good.....

the plumbing is stuffed, will it ever be back to normal.....

We .... the Tuesday girls ventured out to see the "World of Craft"show.....

we had a great day even though the show wasn't quite as good as we had expected but it is new so hopefully it will improve as time goes on.

The following Tuesday we met at Nor's home....

Teresa made us a yummie cheesecake which didn't last long as you can imagine....
