Still trying to upload piccies.....

These piccies are in the wrong order but I've been having so much trouble uploading that I will just have to leave them this way... so its my back to front holiday. Isn't this the cutest little muffin.

Beautiful Budapest in the background and my beautiful Corinne and Heather in front.

This Hawk was so soft to touch and aren't I so brave ??????

I'll keep trying to put more piccies in.... sorry about the order, this was our last 3 days of the holiday, we spent 3 days in Budapest... its a lovely place but they have such a sad history.

Back to blogging

This is a bolster cushion I made for my daughter ... Heather.... for her bed, its a "Rivendale Collection" pattern by Sally Giblin called "Friendship" love her designs and they are such good value and a pleasure to make.

Caught up with the Noah's Ark BOM by Lynette Anderson, don't want to get behind and miss all the fun.

Well here I am at last back to my blog but I haven't got piccies of my Austrian trip sorted yet but it won't be long and I will put a few piccies in here just to bore everyone.... not really just kidding.... I will only put in a few. I haven't done very much craft lately but I'm getting back into the swing of things now. I'm working on a shaggy quilt for my husbands Aunt and I should be able to post a piccie here by the end of the week... or at least I hope so.... its getting a bit late for a winter quilt but I'll be early for next season.
I guess thats about it for the moment.

I was a lucky girl last Saturday night, we went to the " Cantabile Farewell Concert" and auction. The girls sang their repertoire for the choir games in Austria it was so wonderful, I felt so proud of my granddaughter Corinne ( I cried... silly Nan) I also won a door prize .... a large cane basket full of choccies, chips, lollies, tim tams and lots of other goodies... yummo.... then to my surprise I won the raffle... a cricket bat and stumps signed by the Queensland Bulls cricket team and coaches 2007/2008.... just what I always wanted ..I don't think... but it was exciting to win anyway, might sell it later. Its now 4 more sleeps till we leave for our trip to Austria..... can't wait.... this will probably be my last entry till I get back on 20th July.

Its a long weekend here for the "Queens Birthday" even though its not really her birthday now... silly hey !!! but we had a birthday of our own on sunday..... my Mum ... its her 96th and shes still going strong, only a little celebration. Heather and Corinne were in Sydney, "Cantabile" were filming for televisions battle of the choirs on channel 7 unfortunately they didn't get through to the next round but I'm sure they will treasure the experience for a life time and are off to the World Choir Games in Austria in 3 weeks which will be very exciting for them.

Andre Rieu music going in the background....... when along came a peacock (female) so I quickly got the camera and hoped she would still be there for a piccie, I was able to get very close to her and she didn't seem to mind at all so here are a couple of them for you to see.

More news

I joined a footy tipping thing in the local newspaper ... Logan West Leader.... for rugby league, not that I'm a great fan but thought it would be fun to do it, every week there is a $100 voucher to be used at sponsors stores and blow me down with a feather... you guessed it I won this week so I think the IGA grocery voucher will come in very handy for this weeks shopping. Gosh it makes you feel good to win something..... yipppppeeeee.

"Cantabile" auction night.

Corinne gets her rose from the school headmistress ... Donna Anderson.

Heather and I enjoying the evening.

My g/daughter .... Corinne is in a choir called " Cantabile " which belongs to the school she attends. Last saturday night we went to an auction evening to raise money to help them get to the " World Choir Games " to be held in Austri June/July, there is 25 girls in the group and they are just fabulous ( but of course I would say that, not biased at all lol ) anyway I donated the last doll " Melody" that I made and I was so excited that it raised $150 for them, there were a lot of wonderful things to bid on..... Dreamworld tickets, several holidays, 10 person spa, a painting which went for $4800 and lots of other great stuff. The girls sang 5 of their numbers, also circus performers and lots of money games, a great 3 course meal with free wine and beer, it was a great night. Heather, Corinne and myself will be leaving for the games on 28th June, I'm sure we will have the best time as it will be the first overseas trip for all of us, can't wait.

My little challenge.

This is a project I have been doing for such a long time but I gave myself a small challenge to get it done and I'm now happy to say I've finished..... yahooooo
I painted the box quite a while ago ( couple of years) and all I needed to do was collect the baby memories together and give it to my daughter.... Elizabeth. In the yellow box is a collection of paintings... early school books... school reports and any special things I could find from Liz's childhood days and in the book like box are baby cards, baby book etc. My other daughter ... Heather .... has one and I still have to do one for my son.... Robert... but boys dont really care much about that kind of stuff so I have plenty of time to do that. Gosh I feel good about this, I'm going to visit Liz tomorrow, she will get a surprise as she has been waiting for so long.

Best dressed Washing Machines

This one is Mum's (Dolly)

and this is mine.

This is what the best dressed washing machines are wearing this year..... lol..... one is mine and the other is my Mum's ( dolly). In 2006 I was in a friendship block swap, I was going to make a quilt with them but figured one could only have so many quilts and I didn't really need another so then decided to make them into covers for our washing machines instead and I must say that I'm very pleased I did, they look great and make the laundry a bit more cheery. I haven't decided yet on what I will use the other blocks ( 4 left ) for but will work that out later.
