Still getting things done .....

I'm a member of an online group "Friends in Stitching" and last year we had a BOM with members taking turns choosing blocks, so now mine is patiently waiting for quilting. I hope to do it next week as today I ordered a new sewing machine, I've been eyeing it off for quite a while now and should get it next Tuesday.... I'm so excited..... I'll pop a photo as soon as it comes.

The lovely Sarah who organises our FIS site sent each member this great quilt label and card ( which has a lovely verse inside) with a teabag, a very nice surprise which I'll be happy to put on my quilt when finished.
Thank you Sarah.

I've also finished another block of my Blossom Lane quilt.... 2 more to go.

Here is my bear "Chloe" that Teresa made for me for christmas, she also gave me a lovely doiley to make a dress for her..... the brooch belonged to me sister ..June... and I've been waiting for a special project to put it on and this is it.... special gift from a special friend......perfect.

Another block finished for the Lynette Anderson BOM.

Another project in progress is  "Crazy Patch Christmas " quilt by Lynette Anderson, lots to go on this one so it might be slow going  but steady I hope.

I also bought myself a couple of pressies.... naughty but nice..... from Lynette Anderson  these great little wooden sewing tools and I got my blog put into book form  so I guess one could say ...... I'm published  hehehehe ....   its just the first couple of years of  blogging so I will order another one soon, it is lovely to have the book to look back on.

and last but not  least.... my lovely g/daughter Corinne spent 3 weeks in Japan and has given me and Pop a couple of great gifts..... obviously the whiskey is for Pop and the others are mine, she knows how much I love Pooh Bear so he is now sitting on my bedside chest of drawers, the plate and  Pooh are from Disneyland, love the little Japanese bear dressed in all the traditional clothes..... thank you Corinne I love them.

Off to a good start.

I have got off to a flying start this year but it will be very interesting to see how long it lasts.
This tablerunner I was going to have ready for last christmas but alas that didin't happen, did all the hand work but time got the better of me and the quilting/binding had to wait but I am early for this year I guess. This is a pattern from "Faeries in My Garden" called "Sugar Plum" christmas tablerunner as part of the "Gift on the Month" club, I need to get a move on as it won't be long before this years projects start to roll in and I'm already behind so wish me luck that I am able to catch up with last years projects ...... and the year before projects..... oops shouldn't admit that really.

Such beautiful fabric and very unusual colours for christmas but I love them.

This can be my first OPAM too, woohooooo.

I've also caught up with the Lynette Anderson  BOM "My Garden" its a great little project, not too many to go now.

I'm still working on my embroidery BOM from..... yes you guessed it..... "Faeries in My Garden" called "Blossom Lane" this is block 5 so only 4 more to go. This block has to have beading and lace added yet as do the other blocks I've done but I thought I'd do it when all blocks are embroidered. I'm really looking forward to finishing this quilt, once I've passed halfway with a project I tend to get excited that the end is near so I'm off now to prepare the next one. Don't know what happened but this photo seems and odd colour, looks better in real life.

More goodies to show and a day out

This is the courtyard of the Mudgeerba shopping centre.... isn't it great such a lovely place to sit and enjoy lunch with friends.

Last Tuesday we had a day out looking for craft shops and of course we were not disappointed but first things first..... coffee and a banana, cheese and bacon melt.... then off to "Craft Haven" and "Patchwork Dreaming" both at Mudgeerba QLD and yes we did buy a few bits and bobs but I forgot to take a piccie of them. We also visited  "Laraines on Capri" which is an online shop but we were lucky enough to see her and naturally bought lots of goodies there.

Teresa and Tereasa waiting for our lunch. I'm not the best at taking piccies, nearly lost Tereasa behind the table number. We had a great day though and as usual lots of giggling and chatting.

This is the next block of the Gardeners Journal I'm doing with the "Stitch-a-long" group.

Another block finished for my "Blossom Lane" quilt from "Faeries in My Garden", I'm enjoying this very much and I have the next block ready to go.

The good ol' days..... and more.....

I had a lovely surprise last week.... Jenny rang to say she was coming down to Brisbane and would visit me for the weekend.... what is it when old friends get together, its just as though she had never moved to Bundy... we always stitched together on a sunday when she lived just around the corner from me. As you can see in these piccies we had breakfast at a local cafe and it was a big brekky.

My breakfast above.

Then of course stitching, coffee and scones, lots of stitching actually as she arrived Saturday and went home Monday,  thank you Jenny for a great weekend.

Block 2 of my "Faeries in the Garden"  BOM.... Blossom Lane, I'm enjoying this very much.

And last but not least a piccie of  Tereasa ....... showing her Gardeners Journal block for the Stitch-a-long and she is amazingly ahead of schedule...... why would I take a photo of this you ask.... well she is always behind so naturally this needed to be recorded in case we don't see it again, what else are friends for ...hehehehe.

Yahoooo ..... OPAM for May and so quick

How exciting is this an OPAM and its only the 1st of May. Its so good to have finished something, I've had this drawstring sewing bag cut out for ages but it got pushed to the back of the project pile so after the Jelly Roll quilt thought I would do a few smaller things and this is the the first of more I hope.

This is a "Faeries in My Garden" BOM  called "Blossom Lane" by Candy Cats  which I started last year but seemed to get side tracked and didn't even finish  the first block (finished stitching today)  but back on track now, I've signed up for another Faeries BOM so I need to make lots of progress before I begin a new one.

Heaps of embroidery but its my passion. All other BOM's are on track so all is good for the moment.
