These are a few piccies of my daughter's ... Liz..... home at Hattonvale in the Lockyer Valley QLD, they were so lucky unlike others in this area, Liz had a box packed with photos and important papers in case they had to leave but the day after these photos were taken it was nearly all gone just leaving huge puddles and mud but fortunately no damage to their property. So many were not so lucky losing everything and family members it must be so hard to have to start all over again.
Front steps.
Her house is about 1 metre high off the ground but they were getting a bit worried for a while.
Driveway to the front of their house.
She is standing on the back patio and thats their garage, the water was just lapping the bottom step, Graeme SIL wasn't able to go to work as all roads were cut for days so they were very lucky people as you can see.
On a lighter note I'm still on a crafting roll so I have a few projects to show. The first is part of the "Gift of the Month" club from Faeries in My Garden, this one is called "A Tisket... A Tasket.... My Little Sewing Basket" and its a lovely project to make as well as being useful.
Pincushion and needle case.
Also part of the Gift of the Month is this project "Dainty Doorstops" these are great as you can take the covers off for washing, I'm sure they will make great gifts, not sure yet who for but I know they will find a home ... maybe early christmas gifts.
My "Gardeners Journal" quilt is coming along nicely and hopefully will be finished soon. I really hate this part of quilting, clipping all the threads before layering soooo boring.
I must say that I'm not very keen on layering either but the end is in sight.
Phew I feel quite tired now after all that newsy stuff so I'm off now to do more stitching.
Happy stitching and drop by again soon.

Glad to hear your daughter and her husband were safe. Those were some scary photos.
Looks like you have put your time to good use. I do like the Gardener's Journal quilt. Funny, but no one I know has ever worried about cutting off all the loose threads from the back of a quilt before quilting.

It is so good to read and see a good news story after all the devastation of the past 10 days, Helen. What a relief for Liz and Graeme! Your Faeries in the Garden gifts are looking wonderful. Such progress in a short time!
Thanks for the update about Liz - that's great news. What a lovely stash of things you've been making.
She was very lucky! Lovely gifts Helen.
