Scrappy Happy Christmas Quilt

This is my new christmas quilt finished at last but only just in time. Made most of it at dolly club pattern was a bit of a problem as usual but ended up alright in the end.

The other piccie is a doll "Jesse May" pattern by Debbie Macgee, christmas present for Mum, not sure how many 61yr old daughters would be making a doll for their 94yr old mothers but at least it gave me a giggle.

Pippa, our new dog.

Well we have done it, bought a puppie, a 6 week old Jack Russell, very cute. Of course the first place she piddled was in the lounge room, at the moment she is asleep in Gavan's arms but she's not spoilt ahhh maybe just a little bit just to be let in the house is something special. I must be getting old and stupid I think good heavens a house dog, holy dooley what have I done.

New dolls

I never seem to get into my blog for any posts but I have a few minutes to spare at the moment so thought I would add a couple of piccies of dolls I've done recently. The santa pattern "Dashing Through the Sanow Santa" is a Rustic Country Wares pattern by Julie Wilson was a pain in the butt as there were so many mistakes it spoiled the fun but fortunately making it at dolly club we managed to get a few laughs along the way. The other doll "Jessie-May" was a pleasure to make and shes an "Always Stitchin" pattern by Debbie Macgee and her patterns are always good. Thats it for now.

I embroidered this Bronwyn Hayes stitchery and unfortunately I made it the wrong size for the project I was making so decided to make a bag, didn't have a pattern so made this up and I must say I love it.

"Serafina"

Serafina

This doll is called "Serafina" she is a country keepsakes pattern by Annie Smith, she was good fun to make and of course, as ususal we had lots of laughs at dolly club, just love Tuesdays.

Quilts

I'm feeling very pleased with myself at the moment and excited, last weekend I entered a quilt show (29th and 30th July) or I should say coerced into entering a quilt show. I put 3 quilts in Mt. Gravatt Show and to my delight for " Beyond the Garden Gate" quilt I placed 1st and in the same class " 1930's Delight" quilt 3rd, the "Leannes House" quilt I placed 1st in a different class. It really was exciting to see them hanging at the show with the ribbons them.

This Quilt is called " 1930's Delight " I would like to say it was a delight to make but thats not quite true it took ages to finish but finally it was worth the trouble. I'm very pleased with it now after a lot of unpicking all ended up okay.

OOPS forgot to put a piccie of my doll, will I ever find my way around this blog thingeeeeee.

Dolly Club

I finished this doll "Miss Audrey" an Always Stitchin pattern at dolly club this week and I must say she was fun to make. She is a large doll 85cm but fits in very nicely in my lounge room. I will have to move out of home soon as we are being taken over by dolls but I love making them so whats another when its all said and done, keeps me out of trouble. We haven't decided what will be our next project for July yet, maybe a santa for next christmas. Well thats about it really, not much to say but little is better than nothing.
