Final tassie retreat posts

Goodbye photo....
A couple of the girls had left early so they missed the photo.

We all went to Anvers chocolate factory for one last coffee.
Yes we did taste and bought.....yum

Naturally we had to have goodbye hugs again..... as you do....

After saying our goodbyes (again) to all the wonderful girls from the retreat we decided to do the tourist thing and enjoy some of the great places Launceston has to offer.

So off we went for  a visit to the Launceston City Park....
Beautiful flower gardens

This tired girl resting on the light pole

We all thought this fellow was using his mobile phone so I joined him..... lol...
Ronald Campbell Gunn....Botanist....
he actually had plants in his hand

Then over to enjoy a bit of monkey business.....
Japanese Macaque

They were so entertaining that we stayed there for quite a while.

We also went to this very interesting place but you can't take any photos there...
we did have lunch and it just about killed us not to be able to take photos...
a really fantastic place....

We did get these photos in the gardens though.
Can you see the hedge car on the left ?

I might make a quilt label for my birthday teapot quilt with this photo...
apt don't you think ?

Beautiful scenery even on a dull day.

We also visited the Cataract Gorge and as you can imagine had lost of fun there too.
It was a bit chilly that day but still very beautiful.

2 cold kids

A swim maybe...... nup...

We walked across the Gorge and up to a cafe surrounded by beautiful gardens and lovely Lyre Birds.
Of course we never miss an opportunity to have coffee.... for me it was hot chocolate
with Anvers chocolate.

A friendly visitor

These 2 were so cute having a kiss and cuddle in the garden.

Sadly that was the end of our fantastic time away in Tasmania.
A huge Thank You to Cathy for organising this retreat
and to all the wonderful "Friends in Stitching"girls for making our stay so enjoyable ..... hopefully we will all meet again in the future.
