At last..... hooray

Finished at last, it has taken so long to have this quilted that I was beginning to think it would never happen but here it is and I'm so happy.
Binding and label done too....
I'll let the piccies tell the story......
Yes I know it says 2013 .... I had the label made last year with the date and quilters name.... the first quilter had it for 3 months and then couldn't do it so I had to pick another quilter, of course I needed to change the name and I just couldn't be bothered to alter the year..... its not far out..... I have been trying to get it quilted since June 2012..... success at last.
Looks like new curtains are needed .....  it will be great to have a choice of quilts and I'll be able to change them when the mood takes me.

Fun day out and other bits.

What a great day I had on Friday last week, I asked Sandi to come with me to collect my "Earl Grey Moment" quilt from the quilter so of course we made a day of it. We had to travel over an hour to the quilters so we needed to have coffee and cake on the way but we forgot to take a piccie .... it was yummie.
On the way home we decided to drop into "Faeries in My Garden" so naturally I had to show my quilt to Lesley (on the right) ... Tracy (on the left) ... and little old me in the middle.

Lesley and I deep in conversation about embroidery of course, it is great to talk with someone that has the same passion for this craft, she is so lovely to chat with.... Sandi thought I would be there chatting all day.

Thank You Lesley and Tracy for your very nice compliments on my quilt.
Can you believe that I only bought 2 fat1/4's from Faeries, I was so amazed at my self..... pat on the back for me showing such restraint.
Then we were off to have lunch at the cafe just up the road from the craft shop.

This is a great shot of Sandi...... giggling away and boy oh boy did we do a lot of that.

On the way home we called in to see our mate Tereasa, she is working in a craft shop and it was so good to catch up with her..... I think we brightened her day although we were a bit noisy for the shop.

I did buy this fabric for the BOM in the Homespun magazine "Its Time for Christmas" by Bronwyn Hayes, can't resist Christmas things.... Sandi and I are doing this one together for this year...... did I really say this year ?    Oh my goodness.... silly girl I am.

Thank You Sandi for joining me for the day, I had the best time..... my face was aching from all the laughing, it did turn into silliness on the way home.
This photo is proof that I have been sewing but sadly its secret stuff so you will just have to wait to see the finished project....I also put the binding on my quilt.
Well I think that's enough chatter from me today I'm now off to continue hand sewing  the binding on my quilt.

Heart swap and other blocks

There's nothing nicer than a pressie in the mail and thanks to Carol here are my goodies.
Heart with my initial and lots of other pressies, how did you know Carol my favourite chocolate is  Rocky Road.... my goodness you must have ESP I think..... it won't  last long either.

Thanks to Cheryll for such a lovely swap.

Well I have started on my button quilt "Fernhill" by Lynette Anderson, I'm hoping its not going to take too long as its for the blank wall in my lounge room.
I also managed to make the other blocks for the "Crazy Christmas" quilt and yes its a Lynette Anderson pattern..... its coming along nicely.
We had another birthday last Friday but I haven't any photos yet so they will be in my next post.

FNWF and a Birthday.

FNWF organised by the lovely Cheryll.
started out quite well, my blocks were sorted and set out for sewing but as usual things don't always go according to plan.
I didn't get as many done as I wanted but 4 isn't too bad, I was aiming for 6 plus a little bit of stitchery.

My excuse is.......

Corinne and Kenny are living with us for a while..... well they are in the fully self contained granny flat which has an adjoining door, we do get  lots and lots of visits which I love really ..... shhhhh don't tell them that though, they might never
It was Kenny's 23rd birthday yesterday, they did go out with friends and when they arrived home after tea we all had birthday cake and very yummy it was too.
Kenny wants a dog but until they have their own place its not practical so Corinne thought a dog cake  might do the job but it did seem odd cutting and eating the poor thing.

I'm off now to blog hop and see what other ladies were up to last night.

FNWF and cleaning

Here are my blocks ready for sewing, I hope to get 6 blocks sewn together for my "Crazy Christmas" quilt, fingers crossed that all goes to plan.... I also have hand stitching to do if by any chance I finish earlier than expected.
If you would like to join in the fun then pop over to Cheryll's blog......

Tomorrows picture should look terrific.....

This is my kind of cleaning...... love it......
your not cleaning I hear you say........

Oh that's right I'm resting my poor broken toe so I have employed my g/daughter ... Corinne to do my cleaning..... good idea I think.

Do you see my blank wall under the air/con.... I am working on the wall hanging for that spot, it is a great incentive to leave a space especially when its right in front of my chair.

Gosh I feel so tired after watching her work...... I even had to move for her to clean under my chair..... the cheek hahahahaha.

Well I guess that's enough of my waffling for now, I hope to check out other blogs tomorrow to see what other FNWF sewers got up to.

Happy stitching.
