Woohooooo..... doing a Happy dance

Very bravely and with a bit of a push from friends I entered my "Vintage Valentine" quilt in the Mt. Gravatt Show here in Brisbane so my daughter .... Heather and I went this afternoon to see how it went and what a lovely surprise to see I got a first in the quilt section so of course Heather insisted on taking a piccie with me next to the quilt and as you can see I tried hard not to be in the front, I received a great voucher of $50 to spend in a craft shop in Capalaba called "Pleasuresew" what a prize for a crafter, I don't think I will struggle to spend it thats for sure.

Friends in Stitching swap

I'm a member of an online group "Friends in Stitching" and we had a Christmas in July Tree Ornie swap, it was great fun as usual. I made the above tree ornie for my partner Peg, it was a pattern from a Country Threads magazine.

Cathy made me this great basket with heaps of lovely stitching on it... 2 pieces of fabric and Dove choccies (not in the piccie as you can see) as we all opened our gifts in our chatroom I was very hungry so of course they are all gone... yummo.... much laughing and chatter as usual, it was so much fun.

Thanks for a great swap girls.

This is a great little bag, its a Libby Richardson design simply called "Applique Bag" the pattern has the lace included which saves a lot of chasing around trying to find just the right piece.

New quilt

Tereasa was changing her shop around as you can see but I had to take a piccie of my quilt as I didn't get one at home, its just on display for a little while.

Its been a very slow journey but I'm happy to say that its finished. I bought this pattern at "The Quilters Angel" and its called "Gather Your Dreams" so I guess the title says it all really.... gathering , gathering and more gathering then I began to see it in my dreams as well so it is aptly titled. I purchased all the fabric from my friend Tereasa's shop and I just love the way it has turned out.

Finished at last

First picture isn't too good but you get the general idea of it.

This is a Bronwyn Hayes pattern called "Friends for Tea" I have been doing the sticheries on and off between other projects. This is one of the patterns that was designed for "The Stitchers Dream Day Out" at Highfields in QLD a couple of years ago so its nice to have another project done.

Much giggling... little stitching.

June is stitching with a couple of the ladies Tereasa B and Teresa C.

I wanted to take a piccie but the 3 of them got the giggles and so did I, hence the blurry photo.
I've had a lovely time with my g/daughter June over the school holidays, she has joined me at my craft days and has enjoyed herself which has been great, she is making a cushion to put on her bed and is doing a terrific job, I will post a piccie of it when she is finished but the embroidery needs to be done first, hopefully that will be completed at craft on Tuesday. We did a lot of giggling and enjoyed a lovely lunch as well.
